After our presentation to the Wakayanagi Rotary Club, we visited the site of an automobile recycling company in the area. The new facility handles over 3,000 cars a month, and we all watched with fascination the various steps in the dismantling process, which ends with a car being compressed to a block of steel the size of a couch. It was the cleanest, most organized auto parts yard I’ve ever seen, and the company has also enjoyed enormous success, which again demonstrates the effectiveness of the Japanese commitment to recycling.jpg
